Now in this photo you see the IPOD gutted. So off I take the back. Yes, when I replaced my screen, the click wheel no longer works except I can hold the select & menu buttons and rest my i-pod all day long. But if i have time later I will try that, just seems time consuming for a problem that has no direct correlation. When I remove the tool, it just closes back up.
